Metal Trades Council Passes Vote on Pantex Labor Agreement
AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) - According to Pantex, Consolidated Nuclear Security was informed by the Metal Trades Council on Sunday, Feb. 10, that the MTC's membership voted to ratify the company's proposal for a new Pantex-specific labor agreement.
CNS began negotiating this labor agreement back in October 2018. The MTC is the sole bargaining agent for 10 local unions representing approximately 1,200 employees at Pantex.
The current contract was set to expire at midnight on Feb. 11.
Had this agreement not been passed, it could have led to a strike by the union workers.
