The San Diego Padres created a lot of excitement for their fan base last week when they acquired all-star infielder Manny Machado.
But there is also a big reason to be excited about the young guys in the farm system for the San Diego Padres as well, as baseball America rates them as having the number one farm system in baseball.
According to mlb.com, the Padres have seven of the top 50 prospects in baseball.
Sod Poodles manager Philip Wellman talked about who they got to this point.
Their prized possession in their system is the number two prospect in all of baseball: Fernando Tatis, Jr., who could be playing for the Poodles here next year.
While we would love to see him here, Tatis is in spring training with the Major League Club right now hoping to earn a spot. But, he says that he still has plenty to work on.
For their major league manager Green, he loves the personality that Tatis brings to the game. Bringing some of that Dominic flare to the field.
