Young adults who have enlisted into the Marine Corps, also called poolees, are waiting to ship off to their boot camp at either Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego for the males or MCRD Parris Island for the females. Marine Corps Family Nights are designed to give family members of Poolees awaiting to attend boot camp the opportunity to get involved in their child’s journey of becoming a Marine. This will be the first time the Poolees will encounter a Marine Corps Drill Instructor and a taste of what boot camp will be like. The intention of this night is to show the families of those going to boot camp what their child will be going through for the next three months as well as have their questions answered by Drill Instructors who train their children at the depot along with other members of the community that have worked with the Marines.
The Marine Corps Family Night in Amarillo will be held on March 26 at 7 p.m. at the Marine Corps Reserve Center.
The Marine Corps Recruiting Station in Amarillo is located at 200 Westgate Pkwy Unit G2.
