Man wanted in connection to Portales homicide arrested following Sunday chase

A man wanted in connection to a homicide investigation in Portales is arrested following a chase in Clovis.

It happened around 4:09 p.m.on April 14 in the area of 13th and Lea St.

Clovis Police said they arrested Manuel Silva, 23, when they saw him and others in a vehicle at that location. 

Officials said a CPD officer pulled the vehicle over, and as the officer approached the vehicle, it drove away.

Police told us Silva crashed into a gas meter and then fled on foot. He was taken into custody on the 1100 block of North Price St.

Silva was charged with Aggravated Fleeing a Law Enforcement Officer and was taken into custody for an outstanding felony arrest warrant. He was taken to the hospital, and once he was cleared, was transported to the Curry County Adult Detention Center.

Clovis Police said an officer driving in the area of the pursuit was involved in a crash at the intersection of 7th and Gidding St. The officer and occupants of the vehicle were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
