A war of words between man and machine.
IBM’s invention, called the project debater, got into a debate with Harish Natarajan Monday.
Natarajan was a grand finalist in 2016’s world debating championships.
The debate topic was whether preschool should or should not be subsidized.
Both sides gave a four-minute speech, a four-minute rebuttal, and a two-minute closing argument.
Natarajan came away with the win but the computer was impressive.
Project debater has been around since 2012 and uses magazine and newspaper articles to gather information for its database.
