Man arrested in Thompson Park after allegedly breaking into car, firing shots at a person

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — A man is arrested in Thompson Park after police say he was caught breaking into a car, fired shots at a person, and fled from officers.

It happened just after 4 p.m. on the 3100 block of Sequoia.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, the victim saw the suspect breaking into his car and confronted him. That is when the victim told police the suspect fired shots at them and ran. Police said the victim following the suspect.

When police arrived, they said they chased the suspect, then found and arrested him in Thompson Park.

Police said the suspect was booked on several charges.
