AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Winter is settling over the High Plains with colder weather and a bustling holiday season, filled with events and activities fit for families. Parades, seasonal celebrations, live music, and other events across Amarillo will be open to the public and filling up the weeks heading into and kicking off 2023.

Here’s a look at a few upcoming events around Amarillo over the winter, and other tried-and-true ways to spend a day on the High Plains.

January

The Potter County Jr. Livestock Show is expected to be held at the Amarillo Tri-State Fair Exposition on Jan. 18, Jan. 19, and Jan. 20, starting at 8 a.m. each day.

The Amarillo Little Theatre will present “CLUE” from Jan. 19 – Jan. 22 at 2:30 p.m. at its location at 2019 Civic Circle.

The Amarillo Symphony will present the “Beethoven: “Emperor” Concerto” as well as Schubert’s “Unfinished” symphony on Jan. 20 and 21 at 7:30 p.m., featuring pianist Rodolfo Leone.

The Don Harrington Discovery Center will host a Wildlife Weekend on Jan. 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., focused on animal presentations to promote learning about local wildlife.

The Bridal Show of Amarillo will host its next vendor event at the Amarillo Civic Center on Jan. 22, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
