AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — A Regular Meeting of the Amarillo ISD Board of Trustees was held June 21, at 5:30 p.m.

Amarillo ISD board members discussed their plans for a possible federal grant during the regular session meeting.

The “ESSER III Grant” is a part of the American Rescue Plan.

Texas is scheduled to receive $12.4 billion of that money. The district could receive up to $70 million.

Earlier in June the district held a focus group for the grant at Palo Duro High School to get community input.

The district said all funds the district receives from the grant must be spent by the 2025-2026 school year.
