Officials with the Amarillo Police Department confirmed with MyHighPlains.com that Benjamin Adian Martinez was wanted by the Potter County Sheriff’s Office on one charge of “Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child – Victim Under 14.”
According to previous reports by MyHighPlains.com, the Amarillo Crime Stoppers asked the public for information surrounding Martinez’s whereabouts in November.

CANYON, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Canyon Police Department released the identity of a missing Amarillo man who was found dead in north Canyon on Monday evening.
According to police, 34-year-old Amarillo resident Benjamin Adrian Martinez was identified as the person who was found dead in a tree line west of a Wal-Mart store in north Canyon on Monday evening. Martinez was first reported missing in September 2022 by a family member.
Police noted that an autopsy of Martinez was performed in Lubbock on Tuesday morning. However, officials said that the cause of death would be withheld “pending the ongoing investigation.”

CANYON, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Canyon Police Department reported that a body was found in north Canyon Monday evening.
According to Canyon Police, at around 5:30 p.m., the Randall County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call of a body that was found in the tree line in north Canyon.
Police said the body was identified as a person who was missing out of Amarillo but has not released the information until next of kin is notified.
CPD said the Amarillo Police Department and Canyon Police are working collaboratively on the investigation.
