The City of Amarillo, along with the Convention and Visitor Council and Chamber of Commerce, are celebrating the inaugural American Airlines non-stop flight to Phoenix.
You can now catch a flight to Phoenix, seven days a week.
When we first reported the new flight back in December, Mayor Pro Tem Eddy Sauer said, the last time a jet service was added to Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport was in 2010.
Michael Conner, Rick Husband Aviation Director told us the choice for Phoenix was because it topped the list for people they know who want to go there.
Conner said the route between Amarillo and Phoenix was made possible through a $750,000 small community air service development grant through the Department of Transportation.
