MEMPHIS, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Turkey Volunteer Fire Department and EMS went to social media to thank those who assisted in responding to the Monday fire, as well as express officials’ gratitude that no injuries were reported.

Firefighters from Memphis, Clarendon, Hedley, Childress, Wellington, Turkey, Quitaque, Silverton; EMS; Hall County Sheriff’s department and other law enforcement officers, Hall County dispatchers, utilities and city and county workers, TxDOT, many farmers who brought water, volunteers who brought food and drinks. We are blessed to work with the best.”

MEMPHIS, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Multiple fire crews are working to contain a fire in downtown Memphis.
The Memphis Chamber of Commerce and Sheriff’s Office confirm that four buildings have burned. The fire is believed to have started in an abandoned building according to the sheriff’s office.
Several fire departments from nearby communities are helping to fight the fire.
