AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – As announced by the Amarillo Parks and Recreation Department, the outdoor pools across the city will close for the season after Sunday, in anticipation of the upcoming school year.

Both the Southeast and Southwest pools will be closed to the public for the season after Sunday, Aug. 7, according to the department, to allow seasonal employees to prepare for the incoming school semester. Meanwhile, after Sunday, Thompson Park Pool will remain open on weekends only until the end of August.

“We thank you for a great summer,” commented the department, “and are already looking for ways to make next year even better!”

Further, according to the city of Canyon, the Canyon Aqua Park will close for the season after Saturday, Aug. 13.

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – As announced by the City of Amarillo, its pools will open to the public this weekend for the summer season, which is expected to last from May 28 through August 7.
