Officials with the Amarillo Crime Stoppers are asking the public for more information regarding a Jan. 26 homicide in the 4100 block of S Travis.

According to a news release from the Amarillo Crime Stoppers, no arrests have been made in the incident as of Monday. But, investigators have found that the suspect vehicle was identified as a light-colored Chevrolet Impala. Officials also said the vehicle could have possible damage from the incident.

If individuals have information about the incident, they are asked to call the Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 806-374-4400. Anonymous tips can be submitted on the Amarillo Crime Stoppers website or by using the P3 Tips mobile application.

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo Police Department released information on a Thursday morning shooting that left one dead.

APD detailed that around 5:45 a.m. Thursday, officers were called to the 4100 block of South Travis St. on reported gunshots heard in the area.

Officers found a man, identified by police as 24-year-old Markell Damarion Toombs-Reed, with a gunshot wound. The department added that Toombs-Reed was pronounced dead on the scene.

No arrests have been made at this time and the incident remains under investigation by the APD Homicide Unit.
