AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Amarillo Police Department released further information regarding its ongoing investigation into a Monday afternoon shooting that took place in the 1200 block of Iris Street, including witness reports of the incident.
According to the police, witnesses told investigators that there had been a fight on the street around the 1200 block of Iris Street between a 28-year-old man and a 19-year-old man. The 28-year-old allegedly left the scene and returned with a baseball bat, and was reportedly shot by the 19-year-old while trying to attack with the bat.
The 28-year-old was found by police at the location of the incident around 3:25 p.m. with a gunshot wound, and was hospitalized with “life-threatening injuries.” Police noted that no arrests had been made as of early Tuesday morning, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo Police Department reports that it is investigating a Monday afternoon shooting that took place in northeast Amarillo.
According to police, at around 3:25 p.m., officers were called to the 1200 block of Iris St on a shooting. Police said a man with a gunshot wound was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police said they have detained all parties who they suspect are involved. None of the individuals were identified by police. The Amarillo Police Department is investigating the incident.
