City of Amarillo holds Zoom meeting to update community on the COVID-19 pandemic

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Amarillo city leaders held a Zoom meeting to update community on the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to city leaders, BSA has 70 positive patients in their hospital, 30 are in the ICU, and two are on ventilators.

The hospital also closed its Immediate Care Unit due to staffing issues.

BSA also said COVID-positive patients are waiting at free standing Emergency Rooms for available beds.

Those facilities are asking for beds and treatments for those waiting patients.
