Many local democrats joined together at Burger Bar on Polk Street, to see if their nominee, Hillary Clinton, would become the first woman president in United States history.
The night began with a hot start with Clinton taking a lead in the electoral college early.
However, as the night wore on, many locals began to realize their dream of a Clinton presidency was disappearing before their eyes.
Now, they must prepare for a Trump presidency.
Jerri Glover, a Potter County democrat says, “I am personally concerned for the future of the country. I’m personally concerned for the women, for the minorities, I’m concerned for a lot of people. I’m concerned for our daughter. I’m concerned for the young people and what’s coming next.”
Glover says that Trump is going to have to earn her trust back, a sentiment echoed by many democrats across the USA.
