Local Agencies Host Purchasing Event to Meet Small Business Owners

America’s SBDC at WTAMU is bringing together buyers from nine local agencies and small business owners to match buying needs with local providers and help keep your tax dollars in the Texas Panhandle.

“These buyers want to do business with local small businesses and it’s imperative that they are able to meet the faces behind these businesses and get to know what they have to offer,” said Gina Woodward, Regional Director of the America’s SBDC at WTAMU.

Ryan Johnson with CNS Pantex is one of the event organizers and participants, “Consolidated Nuclear Security is committed to partnering with local business to fulfill subcontracts for supplies, services, and construction needs at Pantex. This event is a great opportunity for Amarillo area businesses to network and discover the steps needed to become successful bidders.”

Agencies represented are: Amarillo ISD, Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, Canyon ISD, the City of Amarillo, CNS Pantex, Potter County, Region 16, SSC Service Solutions, and West Texas A&M University. The Procurement Assistance Center will have procurement consultants on hand to assist business owners with questions about registrations and the procurement process.

The no-cost event will be held on May 9th at America’s SBDC at WTAMU, 720 S. Tyler in Amarillo. Business owners are able to choose which agencies they would like to meet with and book appointments on a first come, first served basis. Advance booking is recommended and can be done online at wtsbdc.com/events.
