Lobsters for Literacy!

The Amarillo Area Adult Literacy Council provides tutoring to adults throughout the community who want to learn how to read, or who want to increase their reading proficiency. As part of their services, they offer tutoring for the GED examination and the naturalization (citizenship) exam. AAALC is a non-profit organization, and most of their funding is derived from our annual Lobsterfest event.

This year Lobsterfest will be on August 12 starting at 6:30 p.m out at the Cornerstone Ranch event center. There will be a live band, plenty of free beer, and of course lobster tails and steak for dinner. Tickets are $60 dollars a piece, or you can get a table for 10 for $500. Tickets are currently on sale. There will be a live auction and a raffle for which tickets are presently available at $5 per ticket.
