The League of Women Voters hosted a lunchtime program on the role of constables in county government earlier today.
Guest speakers were Potter County constables Georgia Estrada, who serves Precinct 2, and Idella Jackson, who serves Precinct 4.
These elected officials described the duties of their position and how they carry them out, as well as what kind of training they had to undergo.
League lunchtime meetings feature informational programs on governmental topics or community issues. Both members and the public are invited to attend any of the informational meetings.
