As summer nears, Lake Meredith is preparing for another busy season of visitors.
In the next few weeks, there will some big changes at Lake Meredith including a new dock for fishing and an RV park.
An RV park with 10 hook-up sites, with electrical and water hook-ups will soon be available at Lake Meredith in the Sanford Yake area.
The park expects visitors will be able to set up reservations by May 1.
Along with the RV park, Lake Meredith also has a new dock that will be done in the next couple of weeks for those ready to fish.
“The Sanford Yake area is just our busiest area, there is a bait shop down there so it does get a lot of traffic. Last crappie season, we noticed the dock filled up pretty quick, so more slip area, so slips for twenty boats, so more fishing area,” said Paul Jones, the Chief Park Ranger.
Jones tells us there will now be a covered fishing dock and an uncovered dock.
Along with the new amenities, trails are also continuing to be worked on in the park for bikers and hikers.
Lake Meredith has several plans for events this summer, including more movies at the lake and they are looking into doing another firework display in July.
