Parents of “problematic’ toddlers are more likely to use tablets or smartphones to keep the peace.
Researchers from C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital at the University of Michigan asked the parents of a small group of children how often they allowed the use of smartphones or tablets during different situations.
They found these devices are more likely to be used as coping mechanisms for children with difficult behavior.
Experts say parents of these kids often feel stressed and feel that they don’t have much to offer.
