Improperly-Placed Curbside Carts Will No Longer be Picked Up

News

Beginning on March 4, improperly-placed curbside carts will no longer be picked up.

The City of Amarillo Public Works Department began a curbside cart collection program in January.

The program consists of 6% of Amarillo’s residential solid waste customers, which is around 2,400 homes.

Since the program started in January, the Solid Waste Department was picking up and emptying all of the carts, but that policy will end on March 4.

Improperly-placed carts will also be tagged, a process which includes written information for residents to properly place their carts for pick up. The carts will also be photographed.
