‘Ice Tsunami’ Sparked by Strong Winds in Upstate New York

High winds in upstate New York are causing an ice tsunami!

The Niagara Parks Police Department posting this video on their Twitter page of the mesmerizing sight.

This video showing an area along the shoreline of Lake Erie where large chunks of ice are being pushed ashore by the strong wind gusts.

The ice then stacking up along the nearby highway prompting road closures in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service, winds in that area were expected to reach up to 75 miles per hour, which are hurricane strength winds.

Some residents there calling the ice tsunami mesmerizing.
