Human tongues can actually smell things

Allergies making your nose stuffy?

Try sniffing with your tongue.

According to a new study published in the journal “Chemical Senses” scientists say your tongue can actually smell things.

Researchers growing human taste cells made the astonishing discovery saying taste cells had molecules also found in olfactory cells.

Those are the same cells in the nose responsible for the sense of smell.

Experts even put the taste cells to the test adding, they responded the same way to scent as olfactory cells do when exposed to odor molecules.
