A new study is raising a small warning for women against taking supplements while pregnant.
Researchers in Washington, D.C. and Scotland looked at data from 74 published studies they found a small link between certain herbal products and increased risks of pregnancy complications including pre-term birth and c-section.
But researchers are quick to point out this isn’t proof that supplements are to blame.
Rather, they say more research is needed on the topic, so women can have a more clear picture of the risks.
The study was published in the may issue of “Obstetrics & Gynecology.”
