Families needing support with a disability can find it as a Plainview non-profit expands to serve our area.
Radar Foundation, Inc helps families of all ages and through several obstacles.
“We try to help individuals with a disability and their families and meet them where they are at, from school to home, home to school and birth to geriatrics, we help anybody who has a disability,“ said Hope Hastey, the founder of Radar Foundations, Inc.
Hastey tells us they wanted to expand to serve the Amarillo area after hearing of several families not knowing where to go for certain help.
She tells us in most cases she is helping families with children who have autism.
“If there are any issues they are having at school and in-home, we are trying to get them resources they need, just trying to help families the best I can.“
Radar Foundations also helps adults who have disabilities find work by helping them ask the right questions.
“We found a lot of people who have disabilities want to gain employment, but they aren’t sure how to go about that and what information they can disclose and not disclose and what kind of accommodations they can ask for in the work setting,“ added Hastey.
Radar Foundations has support groups planned for our area to help parents.
They have one scheduled Monday, April 29 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Extend-a-Suites at 3411 I-40 West in Amarillo.
