Going to church may be good for the soul. Now there’s evidence it’s good for the body, too.
The study from Harvard included data on nearly 75,000 women followed for 16 years.
Women who attended religious services more than once a week cut their risk of dying from cancer or heart disease by about a quarter.
The results don’t apply to everyone. The women in the study were mostly white Christians – and all were employed as nurses.
But researchers say it may be important for doctors to talk with patients about spirituality.
