From Sweden to Amarillo

Gabriel Seger and David Ojamae are two Amarillo Bulls hockey players from Sweden. They have been best friends since they were 10 years old. The two grew up playing hockey together in Sweden and now in Amarillo.

Seger started out on another team when he came to the United States, but he found his home with the Amarillo Bulls and Ojamae.

Ojamae said, “If I would have been here alone, I know I wouldn’t have nearly as much fun as I’m having right now. Being able to do all this with my best friend for so many years, it’s amazing how much fun we have.”

The two players live with Tom Tortoreo and his family as part of the Amarillo Bulls Billet Family program.

Seger and Ojamae both hope to get a Division 1 scholarship to play hockey, then go on to play professionally as their “day job.”

The Amarillo Bulls next home game is on December 7 and December 8 against the Lone Star Brahmas. Both games start at 7:05 p.m.
