In light of this week’s events involving Law Enforcement, dozens in our area came out in solidarity for police.
Members of the freedom riders had a peaceful protest in Downtown Amarillo.
It was in front of the Amarillo Police Department.
Several people had blue and white American flags and one protester was wearing a “White Lives Matter” T-shirt.
“If they weren’t here, we would have a lot more problems here in Amarillo. We’d have a lot more murders, we’d have a lot more thefts, and we’d have a lot more problems here in Amarillo. They’re trying to keep us protected,” said James Roberts, President of Freedom Riders.
Roberts says they heard of a planned police brutality protest so he and his group members came to show their support for police.
