Four Arrested in Connection with March Shooting in SW Amarillo


Four people have been arrested in connection with the March 20 shooting on the 5800 block of SW 45th.

According to officials, on April 18, a Randall County grand jury indicted Melchor James Vences, 23, Angelo Joseph Palma-Esquivel, 22, Brooklyn Marie Turner, 20, and Israel Juan Baca, 19, each on three counts of Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon.

Also on April 18, members of the Amarillo Police Department SWAT Team located Vences, Esquivel-Palma, and Turner at a residence in the 3600 block of Center Avenue. 

The three suspects were arrested for their warrants and booked into the Randall County Jail. 

Officials said four guns, ammunition, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found inside the residence.

On April 26, SWAT Team members said they located Baca driving a vehicle in the 3900 block of Linda Drive.

He was taken into custody and booked into the Randall County Jail for his warrants.
