ECTOR COUNTY, TEXAS (Local Big 2 News) – A former church youth volunteer admits to sexually assaulting a girl and gets a 20-year prison sentence, according to prosecutors.

Angel De Los Santos, 26, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to one count of sexual assault of a child, one count of indecency with a child and one count of criminal solicitation of a minor, officials say.

De Los Santos was arrested back in September and faced six counts of sexual assault of a child after police say he was sexually involved with a 14-year-old girl for more than two years. Officers say the reported victim went to Life Church in Odessa where De Los Santos was a ‘youth minister’.

Two Life Church pastors also face charges in the case, accused of withholding information about incident from police, according to investigators.

Donald and Gina Haislett were both arrested on Tuesday for failing to report child abuse.

Investigators say the couple conducted its own three-week investigation before notifying authorities.

An affidavit states that Gina Haislett was in close contact with De Los Santos’ wife and that before a interview with detectives, Haislett told the suspect’s wife to “not lie to police but she should not volunteer any information”, according to the affidavit.

Both Donald and Gina Haislett were booked into the Ector county jail.
