Keeping a food diary may be the best way to lose weight.
Researchers followed 142 people who recorded their calorie and fat intake online for all foods and drinks they consumed for six months.
Those who were most successful lost 10-percent of their body weight and spent less than 15 minutes per day on their food diary by the end of the study.
And it appears quantity matters, not quality when it comes to diary entries
Those who made frequent updates every day were more successful compared to those who just took more time and included more details.
Researchers say there are several food diary apps you can download for free including LoseIt, Calorie King and MyFitness Pal.
