Federal Lawsuit Filed Against 2 Police Officers, City of Amarillo

A federal lawsuit has been filed against two Amarillo Police Officers and the City of Amarillo.

The suit alleges the officers used excessive force after they stopped to conduct a welfare check on the plaintiff.

According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff was stopped in the middle of the road in January 2017 having a diabetic episode.

The plaintiff is asking for damages including medical and legal fees.

We reached out to the Amarillo Police Department and they said they do not comment on pending litigation.
