Father’s Importance to Children

Older Fathers Lower IQ in Kids _20160124145356-159532
The country’s leading pediatricians are stressing the importance of a father’s involvement in their child’s life beginning at birth.
That’s because research shows fathers have a significant impact on their children’s wellbeing.
A father’s play tends to be more physical and challenges children to explore and take risks and dads are more likely to introduce new words and speed up language development.
Adolescents with involved fathers also have a lower risk of behavior problems and depression.
The AAP recommends paid parental leave for both mothers and fathers.
