UMBARGER, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) - UPDATE: The victim of the crash has been identified by the Texas Department of Public Safety as 45-year-old Cesar Gonzalez from Houston.
According to DPS, the preliminary crash investigation shows the driver of the semi-truck was traveling west on US-60. It is believed Gonzalez fell asleep.
The truck veered off the road into the center median where it rolled over and caught fire with the driver trapped inside.
ORIGINAL: Randall County Fire Department is reporting a fatal wreck west of Umbarger on US 60.
Officials received the call at 4 a.m. on an 18-wheeler rollover.
Officials with RCFD report the 18-wheeler was on fire when crews arrived and at least one person is deceased on scene.
U.S. 60 is currently shut down through Umbarger. Take alternate routes and expect delays.
