AMARILLO - The Texas Department of Public Safety was called to a fatal vehicle crash yesterday on FM-48 in Wheeler County.
At approximately 4:00 p.m., James Henson, 34, of Wheeler, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet pickup truck north on FM-48, approximately two miles north of Mobeetie. Officials say Henson failed to negotiate a curve, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
The pickup truck left the roadway and rolled over multiple times. Henson was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle
Henson was pronounced dead on the scene by Wheeler County Justice of the Peace, Mark Brown.
The road conditions were dry and no other vehicles were involved.
