Fasting may prevent aging

Fasting may be the key to fighting off the aging process.

A study published in “Scientific Reports” finds intermittent fasting increases levels of metabolites which allow organisms to grow.

During the aging process, these metabolites decline but with fasting, researchers say they can “rejuvenate” and prevent aging.

People who follow this eating pattern also have an increase in certain antioxidants which protect a person’s cells from free radicals — one of the key factors driving the aging process.
