New research reveals falls and fights cause the majority of serious eye injuries in the US.

The Johns Hopkins study looked at thousands of eye trauma patients over the past decade.

Falls were the number one reason for eye injuries, especially among older adults, while unarmed fights were the top cause for ages ten to 59.

Accidents were the leading source of eye injury in kids under 10.

Among the types of falls, slipping caused nearly 3,000 eye injuries.
