This year’s flu season is almost over.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention epidemiologists say data shows this year’s flu season is winding down and will be recorded as relatively mild.
They cite several factors contributing to the mildness including no new viruses circulating, which means many people were immune because they had been vaccinated, and the vaccine was considered a good match.
Last year an estimated forty million Americans came down with the flu and it hospitalized nearly one million of them.
Nearly 150 children died from the flu last year.
Numbers on this years flu season aren’t available yet.
