An 11-year-old boy and 21-year-old woman are injured after police said a man opened fire while they were in a car.
It happened last night around 11 on I-40 and Bell when Amarillo Police responded to call of shots being fired from a car.
On the way to the call, officers learned there may have been two potential gunshot victims at an area hospital.
After further investigation, officers were able to confirm a suspect in a Red Four-Door Dodge Charger had pulled in front of the victim's vehicle and opened fire.
Police said the 21-year-old driver sustained minor injuries in the incident, while the 11-year-old was injured on his upper body.
APD said both injuries are not life-threatening and both victims are in stable condition.
Officials said the suspect in the shooting was described as possibly being a Hispanic man with dark curly hair.
They said the vehicle was further described as possibly being Candy Apple Red and may have an aftermarket rear spoiler.
