Drainage Project to Update Gene Howe Park

Fishing Hole and Fences to be Added Later

AMARILLO - Gene Howe Park in northeast Amarillo is in for a facelift.
The City's Parks and Recreation Board is working to decrease flooding potential in that area by increasing the volume of the lake in that park.
That project is expected to take six to eight months.
After that, the board plans to add more features to the park such as a fishing hole, and fences to improve safety.
