DPS Traffic Stop Leads to Cash Seizure in Carson County


The Texas Department of Public Safety seized more than $118,000 in cash and a small amount of marijuana last Sunday, Feb. 17 after a traffic stop.

A Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County at around 2:30 p.m. that was traveling westbound on I-40 near Conway.

The 2006 Land Rover was pulled over for a traffic violation when the Trooper discovered plastic-wrapped bundles of cash in the spare tire and glove box. A small amount of marijuana was also found in a backpack.

DPS Special Agents were contacted and assisted with the investigation.

The driver, Adam Narain, 30, is from Winter Garden, Florida and was arrested and charged with money laundering.

The cash was allegedly being transported from Winter Garden, Florida to California.

Narain was taken and booked into the Carson County Jail.
