DPS Traffic Stop Leads to Cash and Marijuana Seizure

DPS seized more than $355,000 in cash and a small amount of marijuana Sunday, after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Oldham County.

At 8:06 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado traveling west on I-40 near Vega, for a traffic violation. The Trooper then discovered five vacuum-sealed packages of cash in the rear passenger quarter panel and a small amount of marijuana during a search of the vehicle.

The driver and passenger were arrested and charged with money laundering. The duo was transported and booked into the Oldham County jail.

The cash was allegedly being transported from Oklahoma City to Hollywood, California.
