Claude ISD has been in contact this morning with DPS about school safety as the manhunt continues for Alan Rhone.

Claude ISD officials say DPS will have officers around campus and outside doors will remain locked. The library will be closed.

According to the Armstrong County Sheriff Rhone overpowered a jailer at the Claude facility.

Officials said Rhone is described as about 6′ 2″, 230 pounds, and about 47-years-old, and was last seen wearing a black long sleeve t-shirt and had his striped jail pants turned inside out to appear white.

The sheriff’s office asks residents to stay in their homes and lock the doors.

Rhone was arrested for a warrant out of south Texas and is from Kansas City.
