What are your thoughts when you notice a doctor with tattoos or body piercing?
A new study with findings on what patients care about in modern doctors.
Researchers with the Saint Luke’s University Health Network near Allentown, Pennsylvania found that body art doesn’t bother a patient’s view of medical professionalism.
Nearly 1,000 emergency care patients were surveyed, they rated doctors on competence, professionalism, approachability and more whether they had visible body art or not.
The study says medical professionals today are more likely to have body art than previous generations.
In 2016, about a third of adults 18 to 25 years had at least one tattoo.
