Denver Feeds Homeless For Christmas

(KUSA)  A party in Denver, Colorado is once again helping give the homeless a good Christmas.

On Sunday afternoon there was a long line of people waiting for a hot meal outside the Sheraton Downtown Hotel in Denver.

This particular event is called the “Father Woody Party” because it is a continuation of the charitable projects started by Monsignor Charles B. Woodrich, better known as Father Woody.

It has a long history in Denver and a long history of helping the less fortunate, too. Around 250 volunteers served about 3,000 people a meal this year.

One volunteer, Jay Finesilver, says that this is his favorite thing to do every holiday season.

“It’s a chance to be involved in your community, to help people that are less fortunate than you,” Finesilver says.
