Daycare Workers Indicted for Death of a Child Left in a Hot Car

A Roosevelt County Grand Jury has indicted Mary and Sandi Taylor following the death of a child after being left in a hot vehicle last week.

A district judge has also ruled today that they are eligible for bond and has set their bond at $100,000.

They are accused of leaving two children in the vehicle for more than an hour. 

One child died at the hospital in Portales and the other is in critical condition at University Medical Center in Lubbock. According to testimony in today’s hearing, that child sustained injuries including brain damage.

The Taylors were indicted on the charges of child abuse resulting in death and child abuse resulting in great bodily harm.

They are currently in the Roosevelt County Jail.

If convicted, they could face up to 36-years in prison.
