Dating Apps: Finding Your Valentine Online

News

(NBC News) With the Valentine’s spirit in the air, a growing number of dating apps and services are working to help people find love online.

The new app “Ship” lets your friends have a say in your dating choices.

“You’ve known friends for so long, they might have a different take on who you should be dating,” says co-founder Aleen Kuperman.

Similar to Tinder and other dating apps, you can swipe yes or no to match with others on the app. Your friends can also swipe for you and share profiles and gifs in a group chat.

“It’s really for people who want to have a more social dating experience,” adds co-founder Jordana Abraham.

The “Air Date” app can match up frequent travelers for a date on your next flight, while TrumpSingles.com works to “make dating great again” for supporters of the president.

You can also try “refridgerdating.” Owners of the Samsung Family Hub can get matched up based on the contents of their fridge.
