Dalhart Woman Accused of Leaving Baby in a Dumpster Pleads Guilty In Court

A Dalhart woman accused of leaving her newborn baby in a dumpster has pleaded guilty in court.
 
Shonnie Smalley pleaded guilty to injury to a child causing serious bodily injury by reckless conduct, which is a 2nd-degree felony.
 
Smalley was indicted back in February 2015 to the 1st-degree felony of injury to a child by knowingly causing serious bodily injury.
 
A punishment hearing is set for next Wednesday in Dumas.
 
Smalley is facing 2-20 years in prison.
