Baby Toy Recall

A choking hazard has prompted the recall of more than 14,000 teething and activity toys.

The recall involves Winkel Colorburst Teething and activity toys.

The colored plastic can become brittle and break into small pieces, posing a choking hazard to infants.

There have been four reports of the plastic breaking but no injuries have been reported.

Consumers can return the toys to the store where purchased or contact Manhattan Toy for a full refund.

Target Phasing Out Perks Program

Target is phasing out its Cartwheel perks loyalty program.

The program was being testing since September in five pilot cities.

It allowed Target in-store shoppers to accumulate points each time they made a purchase.

Target says existing users can still earn points until August 27th and must make selections of what they want to redeem by September 27th.

Sears Teams Up with Amazon

You can add Sears to the growing list of retailers signing deals with Amazon.

Sears will begin selling its appliances on, including smart appliances that can be synced with Amazon’s voice assistant, Alexa.

Sears says its “Kenmore Smart” appliances will be fully integrated with Alexa and that a new “Kenmore Smart” skill for Alexa will allow customers to control their appliances, such as changing the temperature on an air conditioner without leaving the sofa.
